Quintet resume

The Quinteto Diaphonia is a wind quintet with Flute - Natália Monteiro, Oboe - David Costa, Clarinet - Iva Barbosa, French Horn - Thomas Gomes and Bassoon - Tiago Paraíso.

With a musical career of a recognition merit, the Quinteto Diaphonia as made several cultural events – Shows, recitals, concerts, among others – since his formation in Centro Cultural de Belém, Centro Cultural de Cascais, Caldas da Rainha, Lagos, Monção, Torres Vedras and along all Portugal. With several types of programmes, the quintet as among his repertoire some of the best works for this formation, including works from Portuguese composers.
The Quinteto Diaphonia was founded in 2000 when is member where still students in Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa - E.S.M.L.. In this same school they attend the Chamber Music classes of Nuno Inácio and Olga Prats witch they finished with the highest note. All the member of the quintet has a degree in their one instrument.


In July 2001 participate in the IV Cursos de Música de Verão in Santa Maria da Feira, with the elements of the Berliner Philarmonique Wind Quintet
In 2002 the quintet made part of the ensemble orchestra to the play “Peer Gynt” of H. Ibsen, production of Teatro Aberto with direction of João Lourenço, Musical direction of João Paulo Santos and music of Eurico Carrapatoso.
In March 2002 attended master class promoted by E.S.M.L. with Mariane Jacobs.
In July 2003 obtain the 2nd prise (no 1st prise awarded) in Chamber Music-Superior level of the Prémo Jovens Musicos 2003

Since January 2006 the Quinteto Diaphonia has two new members.
