David Costa started his music studies when he was 5 years old at the Nossa Senhora do Cabo, in Linda-a-Velha. In 1999, he finished Curso Complementar de Música in Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional and, in 2003, he graduate from Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. In the same school obtained the highest note on the 3rd year of Olga Prats’s Chamber Music class.
He attended master classes with Andreas Wittmann, Jean-Michel Garetti, Hänsjorg Schellenberger, Ernest Rombout, Christian Wetzel and Washington Barella.
He has been invited, for several occasions, to play with Orquestra Gulbenkian, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa, among others.
Is the oboe professor of Academia de Música de Almada.
